John Harriel was invited by the Honorable Karen Bass, 37th Congressional District, Chairwoman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and 51Թland Security to testify before the Committee on the issue of Returning Citizens: Challenges and Opportunities for Reentry.  The committee is working on meaningful federal legislation that will address the very real needs of returning citizens and the difficult path they experience in their return to society after having served their time.  John’s testimony and that of the entire panel provided the members with an unvarnished look into what formerly incarcerated people need from their community and their country in order to move onto productive and meaningful lives after prison.

You can view the compelling testimony by following this link :

John’s testimony begins at the 40-minute mark in this video.

Morrow Meadows is extremely lucky and proud to call John family and we are so grateful for the difference he makes in our community every day. John is the very essence of our core value of Treating People Fairly.

Michael Wei and Daniel Rizo

Morrow Meadows Corporation is pleased to announce that two members of our in-house engineering team have passed the California Professional Engineer’s licensing exam.

Michael Wei and Daniel Rizo, pictured above (left to right), have 23 years and 12 years, respectively in the Electrical Engineering field.  Michael and Daniel are important members of our Design-Build team.  In addition to new project design and construction documents, they assist our constructibility and field installation teams with value engineering options, constructibility issues, electrical code compliance questions and Title 24 evaluations that come up on our projects. They provide practical, efficient and code compliant solutions that help our project teams find ways to save our clients time and money.

In 2015, Morrow Meadows Corporation acquired R.E. Wall & Associates, Inc., a professional electrical engineering design firm to offer vertically integrated expert design, critical system vulnerability analysis and value engineering advice to our clients on demand. The move was designed to respond to the ever-increasing level of sophisticated design input required on today’s complex design-build construction projects and to help make 51Թ more competitive in the fast-paced construction environment.  Our highly qualified team, led by 33-year licensed engineering veteran, Forrest Petersen, perform Design-Build or Design-Assist services on a wide range of projects and provide valuable contributions to the success of those projects.

Well done gentlemen!

We are very excited to announce that we have completed plans to acquire Pacific Data Electric, Inc., dba PDE Total Energy Solutions (PDE).  PDE will continue to operate under the new name of PDE Total Energy Solutions, a division of 51Թ Corporation.  The transaction is anticipated to close in February 2019.  The acquisition of PDE will accelerate and advance the company’s competitive position and enable the company to deliver expanded products, including zero emission building, battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids and advanced energy controls.

PDE was founded in 1990 by Dan Henrich and is headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, CA.  PDE is a woman-owned business, with Shelley Keltner acting as Chief Executive Officer, with co-owners, Dan Henrich, President and Daniel Cohee, Vice President.  PDE provides engineering services throughout the United States and has experience with various international projects.  PDE has built a solid reputation as an industry leader providing microgrid and battery energy storage design, construction and maintenance services.  Utilizing state of the art energy analytic modeling tools, PDE can reduce a client’s electrical costs while integrating clean resilient energy solutions.

Leading the new 51Թ Energy Solution Division from their Santa Fe Springs office will be Daniel Cohee, a 20-year industry veteran. Together with its seasoned field and internal support team, PDE has designed and built highly complex BESS systems for a wide variety of clients.   Notable PDE projects include a BESS installation at Twentynine Palms, CA Marine Corps Base which was recognized in 2012 by Forbes Online as a Top 12 Energy Project in the U.S.  PDE engineered an off-grid microgrid for a reverse-osmosis desalination plant on a remote Caribbean island, coupling a BESS with solar, transfer switches and advanced controls.  The system supports a high-end resort, producing over 250,000 gallons of fresh water daily from the renewable resources.

“Combining our services under one company will enhance our ability to streamline the BESS delivery model, improving the way developers and clients deploy BESS and sustainable energy projects.  By providing complete turnkey solutions that can be installed faster than current solutions, we will have an economic advantage over the existing business delivery models,” said Cohee. There is a strong cultural fit with the management teams, an important consideration for both organizations.  Shelley Keltner, Chief Executive Officer for PDE comments, “As family-owned organizations, our companies share common values, along with the same culture and principles centered on our employees, customers and continuous commitment to safety.

Robert Meadows, President of 51Թ Corporation says, “This business merger will enable us to leverage new, innovative business opportunities both domestically and globally to meet and respond to the changing needs of the energy sector.  Morrow Meadows will now be able to offer expanded in-house services and expertise to our existing customers, who previously may have sought these services from an independent provider.  Our two proud companies were founded on the timeless principles of integrity, professionalism and respect for our commitment to deliver cost effective, efficient and reliable electrical solutions to our customers.”

A basic premise of our Company Philosophy is to treat people fairly.  We are proud to support our employees in their efforts to make a difference every day, whether it be on the job or in their own lives and community.  We also recognize the benefits our company has realized over the years in providing electrical construction services in the communities we work in and believe we should give back and support those who have helped contribute to the success of the projects we have constructed over the last 54 years. It is our privilege to have great employees who not only go the extra mile in serving our customers, but also in service to their families and their community.  We are proud to recognize John Harriel as one who never stops caring about others.  In recognition for his 20 years of leadership and outstanding outreach efforts, John has been promoted to Diversity Manager/Superintendent.  In addition to being one of our hardest working Superintendents, John works tirelessly in the Los Angeles community with at risk and proven risk individuals who seek a new direction in their lives through the construction trades.

In his new role with Morrow Meadows, John will implement company wide training and development programs for our employees, visit projects and meet with employees to share our company vision and identify paths forward for improved career opportunities.  John will serve as our corporate liaison with customers, employees and the community regarding our outreach and diversity initiatives. John will assist our customers, employees and the community with proven methods for educating and developing pathways for individuals in under served communities with the Local Unions and Apprenticeship programs.

John has been an inspiration to many through his work with the 2nd Call Organization, Big John Kares, the City of Los Angeles and IBEW Local 11. Morrow Meadows is extremely proud to support John in his efforts with 2nd Call.  Please take a moment to learn more about how John and 2nd Call are making great strides in the community and join us in thanking John for being such a positive role model for those in need of a second chance.  Thank you to the State Building and Construction Trades Council for this terrific video.
